So for a few years now after many life events, I’ve had this idea of creating a little place for people to come to recharge, rebalance and regain a bit of themselves again.
Having struggled personally in the past but getting the help I needed through word of mouth, I now know that there are so many healers out there with their skills and knowledge to help others.
I wanted a small base that other healers could use to help their clients in need. To provide somewhere to go locally for people to release and let go of what no longer serves them, this could be something they don’t like about themselves, struggles in relationships, past traumas, fears… the list is endless of why people struggle in day to day life.
I found myself trying to help the odd person here and there which resulted in stress and beating myself up because I didn’t have the time or better resources to commit. So over the last 4 years I furthered my education and skillset to give me a better chance of providing a service which can help people out of a dark place. I also welcome other healers to offer their services from this base.
So many services will be offered from here:
Relaxation Therapies, Meditation, Reiki, Massage, Cupping Therapy, Kambo Treatments, Sound Baths, Counselling, Hypnotherapy, Support Groups, and so much more…
If you offer any of the above services or anything else you want to enquire about? Should The Holding Space Liverpool have availability then you too could work from our modest little hub.
Kambo otherwise known as ‘Sapo’ is a secretion from a large tree frog called the Phyllomedusa Bicolor which resides in the upper region of the Amazon Rainforest basin.
Kambo contains many active alkaloids and peptides that are responsible for it’s incredible powers to heal. The bioactive peptides and neuropeptides present in Kambo cover a huge array of potential medical uses.
It has been used by many Tribes and their communities across the Amazon for thousands of years for the reasons such as:
…plus so much more!
In western society, Kambo Practitioners have found their clients to have had huge results and relief from:
…plus so much more!
The frogs have a deep connection with the people who harvest their secretion and no harm is caused during the process. They are very pet like and friendly, without force they climb or jump onto those who harvest their secretion. The indigenous people allow the frogs to build back up their secretion which has been removed before releasing them onto the wild.
Whatever we are going through at the time, maybe mentally physically or spiritually. Those who seek alternative and holistic therapies and medicines and have come across Kambo can feel drawn to it. This is known as a call for a Kambo treatment.
During a first time treatment clients regularly say “How often should I have a treatment or when should I book on for my next one?” Your Kambo Practitioner should respond with ‘when you next feel the call’ which is a feeling of a need for it. However, during your first consult your practitioner may advise that so many treatments is suggested for best results.
Kambo is a purgative medicine meaning it induces vomiting or defecation to eliminate harmful substances like toxins and to aid the release of unprocessed energies. The purge can also come in the form of tears or other carthatic release. Kambo helps to remove distortion within the energy field to enable a natural healing process to unfold.
It is important to come for a Kambo Treatment with a clear intention. Open your heart and ask yourself:
A Kambo ceremony can be done in an individual (1 to 1), couples treatment or group setting (which we call a Kambo Circle). A basic treatment usually lasts between 20-45 minutes for a surface level detox (no consultation). A full consultation, treatment and short rest period afterwards can take 2-3 hours but the cost is the same.
Before receiving Kambo, you will need to drink 1.5-2 litres of water, this is to ensure that there is plenty of water to purge during the treatment allowing the process flow as it should.
After you have drunk 1.5-2 litres of water you will receive a small number of burns on your skin, called gates (amount will vary with each treatment). Next we will apply the Kambo to the gates and the medicine will quickly begin to take effect.
During your purge you will be asked to drink more water throughout to help the medicine to flow and release.
Shamanic music, instruments, singing, healing and other plant medicines can often be applied during the process, but not all elements are always used. Every client is individual and has different needs, your practitioner will intuitively apply what is required.
The main thing is to trust the process, be open and mindful of your intention, believe and receive all that is offered within your treatment.
It is common for someone deep in the kambo process, to find resistance and blockages. These could be physical, emotional or spiritual. This is why it is important to have a fully trained practitioner to assist you in your process, not only to keep you safe but to help clear blockages, Hapé is one of the plant medicine tools also used in kambo ceremonies to help clear physical, mental, emotional and spiritual blockages.
You will always be given enough time to rest before you are ready to leave.
After a treatment you may feel tiredness and a bit groggy after your first treatment, a headache/hangover feeling but this is a common side effect of a detox.
It is recommended that you take the rest of the day off to rest on the day of your treatment.
Following with a calm, relaxed feeling. Filled with joy and gratitude, like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. It is important not to expect this too soon and allow yourself time usually 4-8 days post treatment but can come sooner and sometimes takes a little longer.
